Every year when the warm weather rolls around, I dress up in outfits with the requisite nod to the nautical look. I can’t help it. It speaks of seas and ships, beach-y vacations, and Audrey Hepburn smartly lounging.
Normally there would be the gold anchor necklace dangling ’round my neck, chain bracelets round my wrist, and espadrilles or the ever-chic ballet flats on my feet. Today however, I am limited in my wardrobe options and don’t have the luxury of wading through my luggage cases. So I thought I would mix stripes with prints, and here I am wearing leopard print ballet flats… a look that I’ve wanted to try for a while, and usually a print that is reserved for autumn/winter… but I rather like how the entire outfit turned out! Oh, and don’t worry about my squishing my poor travelling case. It has seen far worse.
Top: Zara organic cotton ($19.00)
Bottom: Rich & Skinny ’Legacy’ crop ($80.00)
Shoes: Kelsi Dagger ’Bettie’ ballet flats ($30.00)
I’ve uploaded another video to Youtube, and it is basically a ‘What’s In My Bag’ video. It is by no means perfect, but I am feeling more at ease in front of the camera (although still very nervous!) and having a bit more fun. Who knows, if you like what you see… I may branch out into other topics in future videos.
Have you ever had to make do with the clothes you had at hand? Did you like the result?
