Snuggle Up! February 7th is National Sweater Day…

World Wildlife Fund, Canada’s largest international conservation organization, has declared February 7th to be National Sweater Day.

On Feb 7th, lower your heat and put on your favorite sweater to take action against climate change and work towards a sustainable future. Join Canadians across the country fighting climate change by conserving energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. If every Canadian lowered the heat by just 2º C this winter, it would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 4 Megatons!

So lower the heat, wear that sweater and make the world a better place for your Grandchildren!

The tree-hugger, flower-smeller, all-around-earth-lover in me just had to be a part of this.  So here I am, sending lots of love to Mother Earth by turning the heat off completely (Oops, sorry, boyfriend. :P) and donning a sweater with hearts all over!

Cathie Maud & the Pink Sweater for Environmental ChangeSweater:  Simons TWIK

Pendant:  Swarovski ‘Lea’ jet hematite pendant  (thanks to my belle-famille)

I’m lucky enough to be in relatively mild (if absolutely wet) Vancouver Island, so there’s no need for me to pile on the layers.  But for those of you who are suffering from that ‘snowmageddon’… stay warm, and if you can afford to turn the heat down a notch or so, please do so!

Kisses!!

xoxo,

— Miss Cathie

  1. We don’t have central heating here, so I’ve been wearing sweaters and blankets all winter and carrying around hot water bottles! 🙂

    1. Leia, I hope you’re keeping warm enough!! *hugs* You’re definitely my eco-heroine for the year! Stay toasty, and thanks for popping by. ♥
