A Shoe In: My Ballet Flats “Collection”…

Hello lovelies,

Today I’m sharing (finally!) the ballet flats that I have in my closet –currently. Some of them are long-time mainstays, and some are come-and-go, but they all have a place in my wardrobe and my heart.

Moving on from the sappy…

This has been oft-requested over the years, and I’m sharing my thoughts on some foldable flats (CocoRose London and Tieks specifically) as well as some popular –or once crazy-hot popular– brands like Repetto, Bloch, and French Sole.

Note that you won’t find me mentioning or comparing Yosi Samra’s foldable flats; I have an old post here that shows my original thoughts, but unfortunately, those flats fell apart way too quickly, and were the least comfortable of all the foldable flats I’d ever tried. Back then, I thought they were the bee’s knees, but that was most likely due to the fact that I’d only ever tried another pair, and that was by GAP. I’m hoping that Yosi Samra has made some improvements to the comfort and quality of their shoes since 2012. In terms of comfort, the raw unfinished edging inside, the very sparse padding in the sole, and the gap in the middle where the arch of the foot rests all left a lot to be desired. In terms of quality, they fell apart at the side of the shoe (where minimal wear is seen) after only six or seven wears, and I was by no means tramping through muddy fields or gravelly roads…

On to the video:

And as promised, here are some photos of me modelling the foldable flats…

These are by CocoRose London x Royal Ballet — adore these!
These are by Tieks of Gavrieli…
And this is how one must absolutely squish the flats into their pouch!! Not an easy feat…

I can’t help showing off my Keds baseball sneakers here…

Note the beautiful tissue paper they used to line the shoebox!
Take me out to the ballgame!

Finally, let us end this post with the most relaxing and cosy pair… Birdies’ Goldfinch Smoking Slipper…

I do wish they’d bring this style back!! It was the nicest and most sophisticated out of all their original designs, in my humble opinion!

There you have it! My favourite ballet flats. I’d love to hear from you –what would you like me to try, or what else in my closet would you like to take a peek at?
