A Table, A Pie, and a Homecoming…

Really quick post today!

A is coming home and I’m super excited.  It is about time.  I made an Old English Apple Pie (see Darren McGrady’s Eating Royally) at 1:30 am as a welcome back, because I know he is crazy about apple pie.
I also wanted to ‘show off’ the kitchen utility table that my dad-in-law made.  I gave him a quick sketch to work off of and picked out the designs, but he made some modifications that made it ten times better!  Doesn’t it look like something a German woodworker would carve??  We also had a lot of fun painting the details together.  I think I like working with wood… it’s another avenue of artistic expression, and the smell of freshly shaved wood doesn’t hurt, either!  😉
