Coupon Chief –a Site for Savvy Shopping…

It goes without saying that I adore shopping online –it really is both handy and thrilling in so many ways!  Not only do I get to find things (from around the world!) that are unique and perhaps not readily available around me, but I can do it in the comfort of my own home and at my own convenience, without pushy salespeople to influence a decision, or closing hours to be kept!

Here is the e-commerce experience broken down into five stages, as I experience them:

Firstly, we have the hunt.  We search long and hard for that perfect item, or perhaps we stumble on it, then hastily bookmark it… our minds and wills going back and forth between desire and discipline.

Next we have the decision.  We decide that we really need the item, or justify the splurge as a well-deserved treat.  Into the cart it goes!

Thirdly, the bill…  This is my least favourite part, as I expect it is everyone else’s as well!  But a girl’s got to do what she’s got to do!

Fourthly, we experience the anticipation.  Shopping online is like having Christmas or birthdays all year ‘round!  Waiting for the post to deliver your parcels is very much like sitting on the floor beside the Christmas tree waiting for the day to come already, pretty please!

Lastly, we have the enjoyment… and the grand unveiling.  If all is well with the purchase, we happily incorporate a bit of new prettiness to our daily lives.  And we live happily ever after…

Isn’t this bliss?

Well, it is mostly… except if you’re on a tight budget, and need to spend exactly, exactly $42.27 and no more, or like to splurge on luxury labels like Mulberry and CÉLINE but still want to spend as reasonable an amount as you possibly can.  So how do we make that third stage where you whip out the plastic a little bit less dreadful?

Often we bookmark items we’d like and wait for them to go on sale, but the downside to this is that they could be very popular and sell out before they even get the chance to hit the sale rack!  In tricky situations like these, you can almost always find what I call a ‘ready-made discount’ in the form of coupon codes!  And what better way to find coupons than at a coupon site?  The growth these sites have seen is phenomenal, and rightly so –who isn’t ever in search of a good deal?

Coupon Chief is one of these fantastic sites, and what makes it stand out especially in my eyes is the clean interface, and ease of viewing codes.  When you want to find a discount, the last thing you want to do is be visually bombarded by too many things going on on a page.  That is the equivalent of a very messy sales rack in a brick-and-mortar store!

Here are a few links for codes to sites that I am a frequent customer of:

Revolve Clothing:  Free shipping to Canada and America, and this rare deal is sweetened even more when topped off with a lovely 10%+ coupon code.

Chapters Indigo:  The biggest and one of the best bookstores in Canada.  I absolutely love shopping here, and inexpensive books are one of the richest things I can get for my money.

Bluefly:  This store has everything, from the bargain to the luxurious and unattainable!  Bluefly usually has a good promotion going on, but put the cherry on your cake with a coupon code and your Visa will be in paradise.  🙂

Sites like Coupon Chief are indispensable to me –and I do my best to be a good member of any coupon community and vote whether a code worked or not, as well as sharing any I come across!  That’s another good thing about shopping online –sharing coupons.  You can’t easily ‘multiply’ a paper coupon!

Tell me, do you use coupon sites and if so, which ones?
