I have become a huge, massive, obsessive Harry Potter connoisseur. I refuse to say fan. 😛
I was not crazy about the world of Hogwarts when I watched the movies, but now that I am working my way through the books (currently on Goblet of Fire), I understand just how lovely and complex the world that Ms. Rowling created is. Now, when I re-watch the movies, I see all those hidden layers, and can appreciate it even more.
So it was with renewed interest that I went back on Pottermore.com. For those of you who are fans, no further explanation is needed. For those who aren’t, it is an online ‘game’ or virtual world where you can learn more about the Harry Potter stories, and live out your own personal adventure at Hogwarts. This means you have a vault at Gringotts (still trying to figure out how to transfer some currency over into my Muggle bank), take a quiz to find your wand match, and get sorted into your house!!!!
The first time I was sorted was two years ago, before I had read the books and was just mildly in love with the Harry Potter universe. I ended up in Ravenclaw. I really wanted Gryffindor, but Ravenclaw was my second favourite. My BFF said she always saw me in Ravenclaw, and while I wasn’t entirely sure, I stuck with it for a while. But there is only so much one can take of having the username ‘HazelShadow’ (you don’t get to make your own). I closed that account and started a new one this year. And then I ended up in Gryffindor!! I started having an identity crisis. I made five more accounts, and got both houses equally… on one of the tries, I even got a hatstall between the two houses.
My BFF thought that I was pulling one over the Sorting Hat somehow, and I felt undecided. Was I, or wasn’t I? And which house did I belong to?
I figured that today, on my birthday, I would do the ultimate test. I would start a new account and see what I got. Whatever I got, I was going to stick by the result no matter what. I may have held my breath as I didn’t want to be in Hufflepuff! (Sorry, Hufflepuff-ers!)
And this is what I got:
If that’s not a sign that these two houses are the ones I am most closely associated with, I don’t know what is!! I think you all can guess which house I ultimately asked to be in, though. 🙂
Red was always my colour, anyway.
P.S. Yes, I have deleted all other accounts as per their Terms of Service, and have kept just the one account whose name I liked best. 🙂 Find me on Pottermore as MoonstoneCharm26486!
Happy Birthday to me, and Go, Gryffindor!!!! ^_^
Off I go to finish reading Goblet of Fire!
