Nursing Hack: Swimsuits…

As mentioned in my last post, I have a swimsuit hack for postpartum mums who are nursing.

The idea came about when I was bemoaning the fact that my chest’s current measurements would not allow for a decent fit in my pre-motherhood swimsuits to my dear friend Amy.  Amy, whom I have interviewed here, and who has shared her wisdom-ous thoughts on scarves here, suggested a shirt and shorts, instead of spending on a nursing swimsuit.  Ahh, isn’t she brilliant?  Her idea greased my mental gears, and the cogs started turning.  I grabbed a cropped workout top/sports bra that I got from Fabletics, paired it with an old La Vie en Rose one-piece, et voila:

Bra:  Fabletics ‘Sahana’ sports bra in black (2018) [Get it here]

Swimsuit:  La Vie en Rose one-piece swimsuit from their nautical collection (2008) (Very old!)

Jewellery:  Merci Maman ‘Duchess’ necklace (2018)

Pennies saved, and decency preserved.  I could swim (sans necklace in water) without worrying about flashing anyone, and the top pretty much felt like part of the swimsuit.  It was still very easy to access when baby needed a feeding, and that was the most important thing.

But the cutest look of the day is seeing three generations of ‘boys’ in the pool together…

You look lovely and I’m so glad you went swimming! I was feeling so bad you weren’t going swimming. ❤️
