I love a good grey-‘n-rainy day! Things seem so peaceful, wistful, pensive… It’s a wonderful atmosphere for dreaming! There are times when I can be productive in the rain, running around doing errands while stopping every so often to splash in puddles (thereby eliciting the ‘are you mad?!’ or ‘grow up!’ stares of irrelevant passersby, *ahem*). Then there are times when I just feel like lazing around, doing as little as possible, and soaking in the cool, chill mood of the skies. Today’s the latter kind of day.
Except I haven’t put up a good blog post in a while, and I figured I might as well. Going to bed at 4 am because of my incessant career hunting isn’t exactly conducive to pictures. Raccoon eyes, people!!! I am afflicted with them at the moment, and there’s nothing I can do. I have right royally messed up my sleeping habits, and must try and correct it one night at a time. Apparently, one night of bad sleep can only be rectified by FIVE nights of good rest. *sigh*… This is where make-up would come in handy, but I digress…
On to the outfit! And please excuse the black eyes. 🙂
Have you heard of the social media site LoveIt? It’s most often likened to Pinterest, and yes, the concept is the same, but the fact remains that it has a ton of amazing features (like private boards, streamlined organisation, and most importantly, they respect and acknowledge copyright ownership) and the cutest logo ever for a social media site. That cute squirrel and acorn as well as the pinkish hues of the site have captured my fancy. Also, the LoveIt team is made up of fantastic people who are warm, caring, and listen to the input and needs of their community of users. I’m 100% all for that! There’s nothing worse than getting behind a company who couldn’t care less about your opinion. Anyway, I shared my two bits a few months ago, and Lindsay and Kat sent me this adorable shirt that I might have fawned over on Twitter. *blush* Share the Love, indeed. 😉 I’m normally not one to wear a t-shirt, but this one is actually very comfy and flattering. I wear it on my lazy days.
Sweater: Wilfred ‘Diderot’ sweater in black

This sweater must be the most iconic piece by Aritzia ever, in my opinion. Almost every Canadian girl (and maybe Americans too, now that Aritzia’s opened up a few flagship stores Stateside!) owns one because it is so snuggly and rootin’-tootin’ cute. It also holds up well despite repeated washes, and my favourite thing about it is that every season, Aritzia releases it in the ever-stylish neutrals, and the colours that are au courant, if you are into keeping up with the trends. So one can always be assured that no matter what, there is one special item in their closet that will always seem fresh.
I shall now go back to snuggling deep into my sweater, and reading James Clavell’s Tai-Pan –a recommendation made by my man. I’m normally an avid reader of historical fiction with a bit of romance to it (not bodice rippers, I highly stress!) such as those by Jane Austen and Philippa Gregory, as well as the classics, but he’s been slowly widening my horizons. Now I’m trying to get him to read a bit of Georgette Heyer… we will see, dear readers, if I am able to drag him to the ‘dark side’. My dark side. 😉
What’s one of the snuggliest items you own that you pull out without hesitation on those cold, rainy days? Do you suggest reads and swap books with your sweetheart?
xoxo,
