Summer Simplicity…

Sometimes, in an effort to be stylish, the beauty and effortlessness of dressing simply is often overlooked or forgotten. However, these past weeks of blazing summer weather have served as a reminder to me to leave the art of layering to less torrid months.  This is not the time to be fussing around with a lot of clothes!
I think this adage attributed to Coco Chanel really sums it up beautifully:  Before walking out the door, take one thing off so that you are never overdone.
Personally, summer really is about keeping it simple, natural and pretty with bright or soft colours — and dressing for it is all about the little details that take a look from ordinary to interesting. 🙂

What is more simple or classic casual than a white t-shirt and a great pair of jeans?  But since I dislike trousers for the most part, I switched the timeless combination out for a ruffly denim skirt, and I just love shirts that have low-cut backs.  This one is finished off with a pretty bow, too!  Yes, I’m a girly-girl.  Who can kick tush, for your information, so beware! 😛
