Last Saturday, I went to Tulip Town –a bulb farm in Skagit Valley and one of the growers participating in the 2012 Tulip Festival. Here are a few pictures from that day… 🙂
The flowers were a bunch of riotous colours and beauty, and I snapped madly away with the camera in my attempt to capture their beauty in two-dimensional perfection.
Indoors was just as lovely, with artful recreations of gardens, beautiful floral arrangements, and a gift shop with tempting goodies. There was also a darling miniature house complete with windmill and surrounding ‘lake’, modelled after the owners’ home in Holland which was sadly blown up by a grenade during WWII.
I didn’t stay long as I wasn’t feeling too well, so I would really like to come back to the Tulip Festival next year, to truly enjoy it. The last picture I have to share is a shot I practically begged my little brother to take. I adore cherry blossom trees, and when I saw this as we were leaving, I just had to have my picture taken…

Such lovely warm weather we’re having! ♥ Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend…
Albany, NY was founded by the Dutch so we have a tulip festival, too! Sadly, many of the tulips bloomed early this year because of the crazy non-winter we had in New York.
Tulips are one of my most favourite flowers — so nice to know there is a tulip festival in NY, too!
