It’s nice to take a break from ‘high fashion’ every once in a while, and to slip on something that’s easy, simple and just as much a classic in its own way as a little black dress would be.
This is also one of the hottest summers I’ve encountered in these past few years, so the less fuss about dressing, the better! When wearing a t-shirt, the rules are to either buy ones with unique little details on them, or dress up a simple one with accessories. Since scarves are out of the question, and I just didn’t feel like wearing a necklace, I slipped on a tungsten ring from Ice.com and left it at that. I think a belt would make this outfit look even nicer, but since I don’t have any, (“Gasp, no belts?!” I know…) oh well!
As a little ‘just so you know’, I cut my hair off by myself last week, and did a fairly good job of it! I did this because of some hair ‘problem’ I’m going through at the moment, and it’s now shoulder-length, though you can’t tell in this photo. I’ll have to take a better picture of it, to show my hair in all its glorious awfulness –it’s not too bad, though! My hairdresser friend was sweet enough to fix any slight havoc I may have wreaked upon my hair!
Back to the bag, this is from Ickady Bag, run by the lovely Thiriya. It was hard to choose which one to buy, but I decided on the one I now have because of the colour, the ‘just right’ size, and of course, the bow! You know that satchel that Indiana Jones always totes around with him on his adventures? If Indy were a girl, this bag would probably be what (s)he would bring along on expeditions! So far, this sturdy little bag has already gone on an adventure with me –to a parrot refuge! (More on that later!)
I have an interview with Thiriya coming up very soon, so if you would like to learn more, stay tuned, and in the meantime, do hop on over to the link provided above and visit her shop! It’s full of prettiness, I can tell you that! And she’s having a 10% off sale until August 15th!

And this is what was in my mailbox today:
A trio of Georgette Heyer’s novels! She is the Queen of Regency Romance, next to Jane Austen, and I enjoy how much depth her characters have, besides the rip-roaring stories she writes! And despite what you may think, it is all clean fun! I don’t enjoy reading ‘bodice rippers’! 😉
Two adorable necklaces by the talented mini food jewelry artist, Mei Pak! She runs her own business, Tiny Hands and her forte is in creating these incredibly detailed miniature versions of food –and they’re scented! My pancakes and waffle necklaces smell just like maple syrup! *Heaven* They come with the cutest certificate of authenticity and love.

Well, that is all for today! I hope you enjoyed peeking into my parcels, and until next time, have a wonderful day!

Cathie, you write such fun blog posts! I really like that bag you got from Ickady… She’s been on my faves list for a while!
And thanks so much for showing off your scented jewelry! These are gorgeous photos! I’m glad you finally got it in the mail. I know how the wait can be when shopping online!
P.S. hope your hair problem gets better soon. That’s pretty cool that you cut your hair by yourself though. I usually end up cutting one side too short haha 😉

Mei! So sweet of you to drop by, thank you! ^_^
I know, I absolutely adore Ickady Bags! So glad I found her. Haha, I practically search for anything and everything on Etsy with ‘bow’ included. (Bow skirt, bow bag, bow shoes, etc.!)
P.S. Thanks … I think it’s starting to get better. *hopes* The back was the worst part, as I couldn’t see what I was doing. 😛 The sides were ok, though! Hehe.
Yay! You’re back!
