Today was a fun day packed with activities… and as tired as I am right now, I enjoyed myself immensely.
The day started when I was out the door by 7:30. I was scheduled to help out at North Island College’s annual Orientation ‘fair’ at noon, and I wanted to be there ahead of the hustle and bustle to take some pictures quietly. By the time I arrived on campus however, I was not the only one… and only had a moment to take a few pictures. Immediately after, I got right into the swing of things, helping out with set-ups, tours, information booths and handing out flyers. It was a gorgeous, most perfect day to do it in… and it was so neat being a part of the event, and seeing the big smiles on many of the students’ faces. 🙂 I couldn’t help but be sun-baked and cheerful!Seriously, what can you do but fall in love when your college campus looks like a beautiful woodland retreat? ♥ Not to mention the lovely names for the different buildings. Raven Hall and Discovery Hall are my favourites. 🙂
Just a picture collage of the first part of the day. 🙂
Afterwards, at 1:30, I met up with my friend Ali, and we had a girly time at Winners. Picking outfits for your girlfriend (and vice versa) is so much fun. Plus, it’s a great way to experiment with clothes that you probably wouldn’t have given another thought or look to. I walked away with a few goodies, and will be sharing them in another post. 🙂
Of course, we then made our way to a restaurant to recharge ourselves, and topped off our girl-time with a trip to Starbucks, and pedicures! We know how to treat ourselves… 😀
All done with fun, I came home and left just half an hour later for my 2 hour karate class. Learning to use your body and movements to take down a man thrice your size is a pretty nice feeling of accomplishment!
I’m all ready for bed now, and can’t wait to catch up on a ton of blog posts that have ‘sprung up’ overnight –or so it seems! In the meantime, Bonne nuit, and pleasant dreams!
Glad you had a gerat day at the College Orientation day. I love the picture of the building.
School started about a week ago for me (I’m graduating this upcoming spring) and boy am I glad to be back. I completely understand your enthusiasm for orientation/school – the prospect of something to do and enjoy the beautiful view of college is certainly exciting. Hope you have a great school year!
