One of Those Olde-Fashioned Quizzes…

We’ve most of us taken a quiz like this one eons ago. The good old days when blogs were more about learning about someone across the world (or surprisingly nearby), getting glimpses into another person’s life without the feeling that perhaps all this is to have you buy something, and having fun doing it.

Shall we give it a whirl again? I’ll start us offlet’s pretend it’s teatime and we are getting to know each other…

What is your current obsession?

Learning to crochet.

What are you wearing now?

Lacy blue shorts, a grey shirt that says “Je t’aime” and bare feet…

Do you nap a lot?

Only if I’ve a real need to, otherwise I feel it’s a waste of a day and I’ve so much to do.

Who was the last person you hugged?

My baby beans.

If you were a tree, what tree would that be?

An evergreen. I would smell and look nice all year ’round. I see no downside to that…

What’s for dinner?

Stove pizza and apricot tea.

What was the last thing you bought?

A knitting pattern on Etsy alongside some Jane Austen graphics. Possibly due to other obsessions…

What are you listening to right now?

The sound of the dehumidifier whirring away, and the clicking of keys as both my man and I work at our respective studies.

What is your favourite weather and why?

A good rainstorm, windstorm, snowstorm, or fog. Still, calm weather is too mundane for me. I like my skies with a little drama…

What is one thing you have always wanted to do or learn?

I would really like to learn the waltz. Sometimes, I think I have the beginning steps just right, but I’d like to try it out with a recalcitrant handsome man sitting beside me. Perhaps one day; we are both swamped with studies at the moment. Also hang-gliding.

What is your most challenging goal right now?

Really learning and remembering that you’re always going to irritate someone out in the great wide world. Sometimes, there’s something you can improve, and just sometimes… it has nothing to do with you.

If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you want it to be?

Too many beautiful places spring to mind, but I think at the edge of a wooded forest (is that redundant? It sounds nice to say, at any rate…) near a babbling brook, and not too far from the village bakery would be ideal for me.

Favourite vacation spot:

Anywhere beautiful I haven’t been before. 🙂

What movies can you watch over and over?

The Scarlet Pimpernel

The Young Victoria

The Harry Potter movies

Northanger Abbey (Felicity Jones!)

Anne of Green Gables/Anne of Avonlea (I know they’re a series, really, but never mind that!)

Lost in Austen (Another series, but I stand by it!)

What is your favourite tea flavour?

Anything raspberry, lemon, apricot, blueberry, lavender earl grey.

What are you reading right now?

A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting by Sophie Irwin.

What is the landscape of your mind?

Window seats, porch swings, fireplaces, peonies, heliotropes, old books, new books, tea, chocolate, and sewing/knitting patterns. Raindrops trailing down windowpanes, snow blanketing the hedges, fog settling over everything, merry laughter in the air.

What is the latest quotation that impressed you?

I would quote Rudyard Kipling’s “If” in its entirety if I could. It isn’t new to me, but it always impresses me with each read.

You have one wish:

To adventure all life long.

What’s in your pockets right now?

I am surprisingly pocket-less at the moment.

You have a one-way ticket in your pocket; where are you headed to right now?

Scotland or Iceland, or somewhere in the south of France.

Here are the rules:

1. Respond & rework the questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, add one more question of your own.

2. Tag eight other un-tagged people.

P.S. I’m changing this. I’m tagging people without tagging people. People, should you choose to do so, have at this!! Empty list for copy/pasting below:
