The Bad ‘Everything’ Day…

I feel often-times that it says a lot about how you’re feeling on a particular day in the way you photograph.  This is one of those days… where I’m just tired and not feeling well.  And I’m trying not to complain, because I was just on the UNICEF site last night, reading about destroyed homes swept away in the floods in the Philippines.  Here I am, taking outfit pictures of myself, and wanting to whine that I don’t look pretty today.  I’ll bet a lot of people dealing with the natural disasters over there would think my shoes pretty awesome to be in.  At any rate, I guess what I’m trying to say is that thinking of others and doing something for others is a good way of getting past my ‘me’ mentality.

So smile, and try to find the little ‘something beautiful’ in each today, when you’re feeling all sorts of ‘awful’.  The world is almost never as bad as it seems, it’s just the tint of those glasses you’re seeing it through. 🙂

 It’s foggy here, today… so beautiful! ♥

As for today’s outfit, I tend to go for looser, ‘boxy’ sweaters that are forgiving when I’m not feeling my best.  At least, I am undecided on whether they are forgiving or not as they don’t really enhance a girl’s figure, but just hang all comfortingly loose on me.  I find myself pulling and pleating the sweater into interesting folds, so that I avoid looking like a knit potato sack.  What do you readers think?  And what’s your go-to pieces on days like mine?

Sweater:  Qi black striped cashmere ‘Barrett’ sweater

Jeans: Rich & Skinny ‘Legacy’ crop

Shoes:  REPORT bow flats

I hope everyone has a bee-you-tiful day!

xoxo,

Well, I think you still look as lovely as ever. The sweater does seem to be quite flattering in the pictures! My go-to pieces for blah days – leggings and a loose top.

Yes, there are many people in the world who are worse off than we are, but that doesn’t mean we should sell ourselves short. We should remind ourselves every day how lucky we are to have things that other people don’t – a place to live, food at every meal, a loving family, a stable environment, etc. – but if something is bringing you down, accept it and deal with it. If you are feeling “bad everything,” you are no good to yourself or the people around you – indulge yourself a little, have a bubble bath, do a beauty treatment, or whatever it is that makes you feel better! You can only help the world and help yourself when you’re feeling your best 🙂
